Program verification, not certification
Verification status summarizes what kind of confirmation has occurred. Field provenance explains how each fact is known. Evidence strength describes the support behind a claim. None substitutes for the others.
Five Program statuses
- UNVERIFIED
- Information not yet verified
Source confirmation is limited or insufficient. Unknowns remain explicit. - IDENTITY-CONFIRMED
- Program identity confirmed
Program and operator identity have been confirmed. This does not mean every Program detail has been reviewed. - OPERATOR-CONFIRMED
- Operator confirmed
An authorized operator representative has reviewed or submitted Program information. Individual fields retain operator attribution. - EDITORIALLY-REVIEWED
- Editorially reviewed
SUMMERCAMP has reviewed important facts and supporting sources. Specific fields may still be unknown or operator stated. - FIELD-REVIEWED
- Field review completed
Used only after a defined SUMMERCAMP Field Review protocol has actually been completed, with date, scope and limitations published.
Evidence strength remains separate
- UNKNOWN
- There is not enough evidence to characterize the claim.
- DESCRIPTIVE
- Material describes an intention or practice but does not prove an outcome.
- FIELD-OBSERVATION
- A first-hand observation recorded within a stated time and scope.
- REPEATED-FIELD-EVIDENCE
- Repeated field records across more than one time or context.
- RESEARCH-SUPPORTED
- Relevant research supports a limited, explicitly stated claim.
Field Review
Field-reviewed status is not used until a formal protocol, completion date, observation scope and limitations exist. First-hand records may remain field-observation evidence.
No guarantee
A status does not rate a Program as safe, best or suitable for every family, and does not guarantee future operations or participant outcomes.
