Editorial principles and evidence method
Accuracy comes before scale. Structure helps readers see relationships, but structure cannot substitute for facts, sources or research findings that do not exist.
01 · Source tiers
A tier describes the nature and traceability of a source; it does not automatically make every statement correct. Each claim must remain within what the source actually supports.
- Tier A
- Original site-owner-provided material, first-party project or creator records, and related archives. They can establish identity, stated intent, project naming and organizational self-description; first-party project copy cannot independently prove performance, outcomes, legal status, market position or educational effects.
- Tier B
- Public external records, including government, academic, professional, institutional, media and bibliographic material. Each source is used only within the scope it supports; publisher authority or reputation does not replace checking dates, scope, original attribution and individual claims.
- Tier C
- Founder Field Knowledge, including dated first-hand practice observations, working memory and practitioner frameworks. It must identify authorship, date, context, privacy treatment, scope and limits, and cannot be presented as external verification, a participant-outcome study, diagnosis or general causal conclusion.
02 · Three status systems
Evidence status
Separates first-party, publicly verified, editorial synthesis and working-note material. It answers what supports a record and how publicly traceable that support is.
Editorial status
Separates founder-authored, founder-reviewed, editorial and research-draft text. It answers who shaped the text, with what responsibility and at what stage.
Project status
Uses concept, in development, pilot, active, seasonal, paused and historical. It is not a recommendation score; changes require dated source support.
03 · How we describe programs
A program profile records program structure, environment, activities, challenge, family model, learning intentions and available evidence as separate dimensions. Only supported fields are shown; Program, Program Edition and dated Program Session remain distinct, and missing age, duration, season, language, demand, route or accessibility information is not auto-completed.
Activity describes what participants do, challenge describes what makes a task demanding, learning intention describes what a program aims to practise, and an outcome requires separate appropriate evidence. A learning goal, completion, photograph or founder reflection cannot independently prove a durable participant outcome.
SUMMERCAMP classifications are editorial descriptions, not guarantees of suitability, safety, quality, availability or participant outcomes. Profile completeness is not a program-quality score.
04 · Founder Field Knowledge
Practitioner observation can preserve questions, decisions and field detail, but memory, interpretation and outcome must not be collapsed. A public field note should separate environment, challenge, observable behaviour, adult intervention, outcome and unresolved questions wherever the record permits.
Children and families are anonymized by default. Material without appropriate consent, privacy treatment or enough context is not published merely because it makes a compelling story. A single case cannot prove a general effect.
05 · No invented completeness
SUMMERCAMP.TOP does not invent dates, numbers, quotations, people, participant outcomes, partners, sponsors, government relationships, prices, routes, safety guarantees or academic conclusions. Unconfirmed fields remain empty, and a development-stage project is not described as operating.
An external link supports only what its destination actually establishes. The existence of a book, media report or project page does not automatically prove that a related method is effective.
06 · AI and editorial responsibility
AI may help organize structure, propose search terms, compare text, draft language or identify gaps, but it is not a factual source. Before publication, people, dates, quantities, status, relationships and quotations must return to traceable evidence. AI-generated visuals are identified separately and do not stand in for documentary photographs.
07 · Updates and corrections
Projects and sources change. Pages retain update dates, and material status changes should update prose, structured fields, relationships and sources together. When records conflict, the claim is narrowed or removed before entering verification; smoother prose never hides uncertainty.
08 · Editorial independence
Commercial relationships must not silently alter SUMMERCAMP classification, verification, evidence labels, organic ranking or correction decisions. Payment, ownership, advertising, reciprocal links, data submission or personal relationships cannot purchase a more favorable program status or learning conclusion.
Some programs documented on SUMMERCAMP.TOP may be connected to its founders or contributors; those relationships are disclosed where they matter to interpreting a page. Founder-connected programs receive no preferential editorial score and follow the same source, unknown-value and correction rules as independent external programs.
Operators may submit records and identify factual errors, but editorial review still checks source, date and scope. Any future sponsorship or paid placement must be clearly labeled and separated from organic discovery; payment cannot be presented as verified, recommended, safest or most suitable.
