How Advisor recommendations work.

Advisor asks only for structured information relevant to an experience choice: participation, age, interests, readiness, duration, language and a broad travel boundary. Names, birth dates, schools, home addresses, diagnoses and contact details are outside the profile model.

Deterministic rules check documented hard conditions such as age and required family participation first. A preference score cannot override a known conflict; when a required field is unknown, the result asks for verification instead of treating unknown as eligible.

Activity, environment, learning intention, duration and selected broad regions explain why some records appear earlier. Travel flexibility is summary context only and does not change matching unless a region is also selected. Strong, Possible, Explore and Future are bounded result groups—not a ‘best’ list, quality grade, success probability or safety score.

Each program match separates supporting reasons, trade-offs, missing information and questions for the operator. Operator statements remain distinct from SUMMERCAMP editorial classifications, and current availability must still be confirmed on the official program site.

Natural-language mode may use AI to translate a description into the same structured profile and create readable narration. Eligibility, grouping and ordering remain deterministic. If narration is unavailable, Advisor labels the deterministic fallback state explicitly.

Advisor never places the family profile in a URL. Structured data reaches localStorage only after the user opts in to ‘remember on this device’; it includes a consent version and expiry and is retained for no more than 30 days. Raw natural-language descriptions are never saved. Clear profile removes both page state and local storage.
